Welcome to the
Endangered Animals
Global Project 
​

‘The Endangered Animals Project’ is part of the Flat Connections group of global projects
and has been designed
 for students of around age 8-12 years. (Grades 3-6)


The aim of this project is to explore global issues and to foster meaningful discussion and sharing between students. Outcomes will include student-driven solutions shared through creative use of technology.
The Endangered Animals global project is not available this semester.

FOCUS QUESTION:
"Can we work together to help save endangered animals of the world?"
This collaboration will explore and share understandings and research around the following:​
  • Interdependence of living creatures
  • Sustainability of animal environments
  • Evaluation of past and current practices on animal survival
  • Design of possible solutions for future action

Curriculum Objectives

Science:
Living things have life cycles
​Living things depend on each other 
Living things have structural features and adaptations that help them to survive in their environment
The growth and survival of living things are affected by physical conditions of their environment

Science involves making predictions and describing patterns and relationships
Science knowledge helps people to understand the effect of their actions



Literacy:
  • To share own experiences and interact with peers in an online environment
  • To use a range of software with fluency to construct, edit and publish written text, and select, edit and place visual, print and/or audio elements

Intercultural Understandings:
  • To stimulate students’ interest in the lives of others and to help them to connect and communicate with diverse groups of fellow students
  • To develop students’ abilities to recognise commonalities and differences between people and to develop empathy, respect and responsibility in actions

  • To use online programs and web2.0 tools to share ideas and information and to collaboratively construct knowledge and digital solutions.
  • To apply social and ethical protocols and practices when using ICT
